Overview
The Su-24 "Fencer" was the first Soviet aircraft with an integrated attack computer able to hit targets at night and in bad weather. Like the American F-111, it has variable-sweep wings and seats its two crew side by side.
It was designed to fly fast and very low to slip under enemy radar and strike targets deep behind the front line. Hundreds remain in service with Russia, Ukraine, Iran, Algeria and others, though Russia is replacing it with the Su-34. Specifications are for the Su-24M.
