Overview
The Black Hawk replaced the Vietnam-era Huey as the US Army's main troop and utility helicopter. It carries 11 fully equipped soldiers, can lift about 4 tonnes under its belly and was built to survive hits from small-arms fire.
More than 5,000 of the S-70 family have been built in versions for medevac, special forces, search and rescue and naval use (the Seahawk). Specifications shown are for the UH-60L/M.
